TOP 5 LATEST INNOVATIONS IN 2017
New innovations and discoveries in science is a never-ending process. Millions of devoted scientists and researchers are working hard day and night to make our life more smarter. In 2017, there are lot of revolutionary things has happened in the world of science and technology. Here we have picked some of the bests among them. The top 5 has been chosen on purely on the basis of their applications in our daily life.
So, here's the list.
5. Jibo
Do you feel
like if I had such a helper inside my home who can provide me uninterrupted
assistance whenever I need? What if someone in your home
reminds you of all your due works so that you can finish them by time, what if
someone reads you the newspaper early morning when you don’t have enough time
to read it yourself, what if someone clicks you photos instantly at that
moment, not running in the whole house to search where the phone is kept, what
if you don’t need to pick the phone repeatedly to search on Google something important,
which causes interruptions in studies and work? Instead, you
can someone who will do the searching job and instantly get you the necessary information
and also will crack funny jokes when you will feel bored. Developed by Cynthia
Breazeal, an Associate Professor of Media Arts and Science in MIT, Jibo is 11’’
tall with a 6’’ base. Prof. Breazeal described it as “World’s first family
robot”.
It has a 5.7 inches 1980*1080 touchscreen display part as the
communication interface. In addition, there are a couple of stereo speakers,
stereo microphones and cameras to communicate with its users. Jibo is
programmed with a Linux-based environment. Jibo can talk to you, listen to you,
process your words and carry out what you say it to. It can play you your
favorite music, read you books and newspaper, tell you the weather forecast,
traffic news, recipes from the internet. More amazingly, Jibo has the ability
to learn new skills and languages from the user. Even a special SDK that will
allow developers to install new features in it. All you need to do is just to
connect your Jibo to your smartphone through Jibo app and with the internet. No
doubt, Jibo is a revolutionary creation in the world of robotics. But, relax! there's no hurry to go crazy. Jibo is just a prototype till now, there’s a long way ahead.
4. Bixby
Well, readers may think what
revolutionary with it in 2017. With Apple’s
Siri, The Google Assistant, Microsoft’s Cortana and Amazon Alexa existing
already, what’s so special about Bixby. Well, Bixby has indeed offered something
special. In terms of an assistant, Bixby is felt to be more ‘personal’ than all
of its competitors and works like an actual ‘personal voice assistant. Ever
watched how Jarvis works for Tony Stark, always up to follow his
instructions. It’s just like that. Bixby can unlock your phone, do other basic
things like reading and sending messages, making you calls, rotating the screen
inside gallery, downloading and installing apps from the store, erasing your
browser history and a lot more just by your voice instructions. And with its
voice recognition system, it won’t unlock your phone on any other person’s saying.
To enhance the on-screen interaction, it has the ability to emulate screen-taps
while performing any task. Though it is inferior to Google Assistant when it
comes to answering basic enquiries like weather forecast, traffic route, nearby
restaurant (all credits to Google's large database) etc. But in basic phone operations, Bixby is a landmark innovation
of this year and more efficient than any other voice assistant.
3. The Volterman Smart Wallet
Volterman
is a smart wallet that will be helpful enough when you are outside home. Along
with keeping the money, it ensures you that your wallet will never be lost. It
has built-in ‘Thief Detector Camera’, ’Global GPS Tracker’, ‘Distance Alarm
System’. That means, whenever your wallet is lost, you will get notifications
in your phone that you have lost it as soon as the distance between your phone
and wallet extends the permitted limit. With the help of tracking system, you
can easily track its current location and the camera on the wallet will send
you the pic of the thief. So, now it’s not that difficult to catch the thief
and rescue your money. It can work in the reverse way also. If you forget your
phone somewhere, the wallet itself will give alarm about that. Not only that,
with its ‘Global GPS Hotspot’, you don’t have to worry about internet
connectivity outside home. Anywhere you go, you remain connected. It has also a
built-in power storage system which can work as a power bank(from 2000mAh to
5000 mAh) for both wired charging and wireless charging system.
2. Intel Compute Card
Intel's Compute Card, which is about the size of a credit card, is a
mini-computer designed to be easily inserted into smart devices. The idea is to
make upgrading gadgets like smart refrigerators, interactive retail kiosks, and
connected security cameras as easy as swapping out one component. This prevents
the need to buy an entirely new system once new standards in connectivity or
faster processors are released. The computer includes essentially all of the
same aspects of a standard-sized computer, including a processor, memory,
storage, and wireless tech.
1. Sony Xperia Touch Projectors
This new
addition to the flagship of electronics giant Sony, is undeniably revolutionary. It
is a projector device which can turn any surface into an interactive touch-screen.
Isn’t it cool? It means you can
enjoy your favorite games on the center table of your drawing room, watch movies
on the whole wall, annotate a presentation so easily. And it is portable too!
This projector can also sense you when you approach it and show you necessary
messages on the wall.
But certainly innovations in technology was certainly not limited to only these five things. There some other notable mentions, viz., the bezel less OLED display in smartphones, Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, Xiaomi Mijia smart-shoes, HTC Vive, Sphero R2-D2 Droid, TP-Link Deco M5 wi-fi mesh kit etc.
Thank you for reading friends.
Wish you all a good day.
